It was announced recently that the English Language School Board will be cutting 43 teaching positions this fall from the 57 schools in the district.
While representatives of the government’s education department claim that this translates to less than one teacher per school, we can’t help but wonder if this will affect the plans of Island students wishing to pursue an education in education. According to the province, these cuts will be made through attrition.
